How do I get a copy of a court record from Kitsap County Superior Court?

Most Kitsap County Superior Court records are public. Here's how to access them:

Online: Start at the Odyssey Portal (https://odysseyportal.courts.wa.gov/odyportal). You can search by case number or party name and view basic case information for free. If you need certified copies or full document access, you'll need to contact our office directly.

In person: Visit Room 202 at 614 Division Street, Port Orchard. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am–12:15pm and 1:15–4:30pm. Bring your case number if you have it — it speeds things up considerably. Also, note that we do take a lunch break between 12:15-1:15, we've had more than a few people get turned away for showing up during that window.

By mail or online request: Use the copy request form on the Clerk's website. Standard copies are currently $0.50 per page. Certified copies cost more and are required by banks, insurance companies, and government agencies — a regular copy won't work for those purposes.

One thing worth knowing: not all records are public. Juvenile cases, sealed records, and certain family law matters have restrictions. If you're unsure whether what you need is accessible, call our office at (360) 337-7164 before making the trip.

This is an area where I think we could do significantly better — a clear, plain-language guide to what's available, how to request it, and what it costs would save a lot of people a lot of wasted trips. That's one of the things I'm running to build.
